The Best Double Buggy Strollers

A double buggy is ideal when you are expecting twins, or if you have two children of different age groups. The best ones are easy to maneuver and can handle rough surfaces and kerbs.

They also have features such as large sun canopies, see-through hoods and seats that are adjustable.

1. Baby Jogger City Tour Double

The City Tour 2 Double stroller is the smallest of the Baby Jogger range. It's designed for travel, and fits through doors that are standard with its ultra-narrow shape. It's also among the lightest double buggies available with a weight of just 14lbs when folded. It's perfect for traveling with a newborn and toddler since you won't over-exceed airline baggage allowances. It can also be folded to the size of a small travel bag, which means you can put it in the back seat of your car.

It's simple to fold the Z-shape with one hand. Once you've gotten used to it, it's compact and can be folded in a matter of minutes. However, our tester discovered the auto lock to be a little confusing. As the handlebar doesn't lock into position when you press it, it hit her legs when she was using it. She also believed that the handlebar was on the shorter side.  double infant stroller  is especially the case when a large bag for changing hangs from it.

The double stroller isn't as light as other travel buggies. It's got a broad variety of features, and is one the most versatile double strollers available on the market. It's compatible with two carrycots (available separately) and has multiple recline positions, and has a UV 50+ canopy. You can put an additional bassinet to one or both seats to make it a travel system.

The four rubber composite tires are ideal for pavements and urban terrain. However, they were not designed for off-roading. They had trouble with long grass and gravel and there was not enough clearance between the wheel bracket and the wheel and mud sank easily. Our tester loved this buggy and was able to climb beautiful hillocks that were muddy.

It's a heavier buggie in tandem, but it's a breeze to drive and use particularly on smooth roads. It's stable in single and double mode, and even on sloping ground. It's not as easy to drive on public transportation, however, since it requires more than one hand on the handlebar. It's also a bit heavy and will not fit in a standard family car boot with the seat in place, however this can be overcome by cautious planning. iCandy includes the footmuff and changing bag in the price, so this is an excellent value for parents who are just starting out.

5. Nipper Double V5

The Nipper Double V5 is a refreshed version from Out 'n' About of the award-winning buggies that are all-terrain. It is specifically designed for twins or other siblings and features separate reclining seats, compatibility with carrycots, as well as a lightweight framework for easy manoeuvrability on bumpy terrain.

The 360-degree swivel can be locked to allow for easier maneuvering around the town. The one-pedal lock brake is also simple to use.

Our test participants found that the Nipper Double is incredibly easy to navigate, even on rough terrain or when turning on the middle of a busy road. The possibility that the seats could be reclined independently was a big hit.

They also liked that the hoods were able to be moved forward and back, which made them easier to adjust in the sun or for wind protection. Our testers did find however that they did not provide an extensive amount of coverage when compared to similar to the Baby Jogger City Mini hoods which is why it's recommended to bring a rain jacket in case of need.

Overall, our test participants were impressed by the Nipper double's ability to let them take their twin daughters Sydney and Lyla to all sorts of adventures. From exploring the forest for wildlife to rushing to the park for a playdate, they loved it. They were also amazed by how cozy and spacious the two seats are with plenty of space for toddlers growing to stretch out in. The lack of parent facing seating and the inability to use car seats in this buggy were cited as a problem by our test participants. They would have wanted a bigger storage area for shopping and other gear.
